Over the last 2 years
Gods X
Gangsters, along with the NSU School of Social work, hosted a series
of meeting, and trainings for Gang Prevention and Intervention.
This helped to identify those with a passion, who were capable and
available to address the still existing gaps in service.
In Virginia we knew we didn't have
time to reinvent the wheel, so instead, we quickly linked and
locked arms to fill in as part of the complete answer. Together
we train the trainers utilizing examples of effective point programs
that serve as models to help teach others how to address the basic
needs. Across the nation there are a handful of groups, who are
structuring their work from the grass roots up. This effective
community based response is working to provide a more complete
answer, that can be a valuable asset to add to the existing Public
Service teams present programs. The unity of community is
contagious.
One of our core training teams
is GodsXGangsters.org, who has marked success with this model as
they utilize EX Original Gangsters, as tipping points to
steer youth in making right choices. Additionally, this team
is training other trainers in what really works, as they roll play,
do drama's, share stories, and rap about what changed their
lives.
The GXG core team is all Original
Gangsters, who help other teams gather momentum, while addressing
their youth and training their trainers, along with their extended
network of friend and associates. How can we help you with your work
to move into the next level of service delivery and training? We
invite you to join us with your city and state teams, as we continue
to grow into a Model that can be reproduced nationally.
